Summer With A Vengence

Yesterday 106* hooboy...103* today...I hugged the fan all day at work on Sunday and am doing it again today. Saw on the news this a.m., it's 100* in Portland...my, my, they better water those roses! Plunging to the 90s the rest of the week here.
Yesterday, Deej and I took a walk at 7:15 before I went to work...had to squeese in a cold shower after that little adventure...but omgawd, the beauty of our view and our summer road and the full lake and the gorgeous air...whoa...hard to believe only 6 months to Christmas in such splendid, lush, really warm surroundings...
Yesterday was Eric's 32nd birthday...he went fishing with a buddy who shares the same birthday.
Yesterday, Dre and I watched the College World Series...Bill Rowe, who played with Mike in high school was playing fantastic ball...Zack and Mike were watching together in Portland...we'd call or text back and forth. Deciding game tonite...Dre's coming home early to catch it...we'll be glued!
Yesterday, Rosie and fam. took out Josh's new-to-him boat on Lake of the Woods and had a beautiful summer day on the lake...the kids loved being on the water
Yesterday, Karen sent me many updates to catch me up on Lara's progress with the transplant...anyone want them forwarded to see how it's going? Her family is so supportive...Karen sleeping on the floor in her room, Leon sleeping in his rig in the parking lot at Stanford, Kara and Justin writing really good stuff about Lara's progress.
Yesterday, Christa invited us to their cabin this coming weekend, for a few days...but Dre and I are totally booked...we're hoping to visit later, like in Sept. We love seeing them and relaxing at the cab.
